In 2011 a gentleman by the name of “Whisker Will” received a phone call from his friend Mannie Flores. “Dude, you gotta check out this show called Whisker Wars.” They both watched an episode and from that point on were hooked.
This encouraged them to go to beard and moustache competitions in places they had never thought of visiting, made friends with people from all over the world and made memories that would last lifetimes.
About a month or so after the two of them began having conversations with other bearded brothers and the idea of a creating the North Texas Beard Alliance was born.
Within months, the club held its first beard competition at a local brewery benefitting a chosen local charity. Since then, the club has held a competition every year supporting local charities throughout the DFW area.
Through the years this club has grown and progressed with additional members and new officers but the charter of the club will always remain the same. No singular event could have ever led to its inception.
Its officers and members continue to consistently place in competitions, both local and global. The club also promotes diversity with its members and no member is discriminated against based on race, religion, politics or sexual orientation.
